Where, oh where have the cravings gone?

So Refined Sugar and I have been in love ever since the days when Granddad would meet me at the gates of my Primary School every Tuesday afternoon with a pack of Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles.  Fast forward to now, I started 2016 with a 40 day fast from Refined Sugar which I completed successfully, only  because I knew there was sugar at the end of the rainbow.  Dammit!  So you can guess my surprise that this week, I have managed to go four days without cravings at ALL! AT ALL!!!!! What am I doing that I wasn’t doing before?

Well…. upon returning from Ghana (up until yesterday), I’ve had the almost inevitable  – TD (Traveller’s Diarrhoea!) Great! Just what I need and I also had additional stomach cramps – nice!  So, what did I do? I went with my girl Aruba Red to the Farmer’s Market on Sunday and decided that I was going to keep it as simple and as pure as possible and add some AMAZING supplements to help my body detoxify faster. In the process of my body being completely saturated with nutrients, I’ve had NO cravings.  ZERO cravings! I feel as though a miracle has happened.  I’ve never had this before.  No more struggle, no more pain when I past the newsagents. Freedom! Balancing my body nutritionally = mental and emotional freedom from cravings.

So, if you want to know EXACTLY what I’ve been eating, give me a shout and I’ll fill you in.  In the meantime, may you be inspired if you’ve been struggling with sugar as I have been for years.  And even if I slip again, I know exactly what I need to do and it’s NOT to resist it (What you resists persists), but instead to focus on the good.  Much like many things in life.

Love, light & yoga!

Love this AWJ! I’ve been a few a few bouts of cutting out the refined sugar and I know it def gets rid of the cravings and brings with it a kind of emotional freedom like you suggest. One less thing to depend on, right? My problem is I intend to go cold-turkey, which means I inevitably slip back in because I haven’t incorporated any long-term replacements into my diet. Would love to hear more about what you have been eating….
